Legal terms

Terms and conditions of use

Effective August 16, 2026. These terms form an agreement governing access to and use of the Numevia website. Please read them before using a calculator.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using the website, you agree to these terms and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website. You must have the legal capacity required to enter into this agreement. Mandatory rights granted by Quebec consumer and privacy legislation are not waived or restricted by these terms.

2. Educational information only

Numevia provides general educational information and automated planning estimates. Numevia is not a financial institution, lender, mortgage broker, insurer, investment dealer, accountant, tax preparer or law firm. Nothing on the website constitutes financial, mortgage, investment, insurance, accounting, tax or legal advice, an offer, a solicitation, a credit decision or a recommendation of a particular product, provider or transaction.

3. Assumptions, estimates and official verification

Results are estimates based on the values entered, mathematical models, published rules and assumptions displayed on the applicable page. They may not include every tax rule, credit criterion, fee, exemption, contractual condition or personal circumstance. Rates, thresholds, benefits and laws may change without immediate notice. Before acting, verify material information with the relevant government authority, financial institution or qualified professional.

4. User responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter and for evaluating whether a calculator applies to your situation. Do not enter another person’s confidential information without lawful authority. You remain solely responsible for financial, legal and contractual decisions made after using the website.

5. Permitted and prohibited use

A limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right is granted to use the website for lawful personal or internal business purposes. You may not interfere with security or operation; introduce malicious code; attempt unauthorized access; scrape or extract content at an unreasonable scale; reverse engineer protected components; remove notices; impersonate another person; use the website unlawfully; or present Numevia content as your own regulated professional advice.

6. Availability and changes

The website may be modified, suspended or discontinued, in whole or in part, without notice where reasonably necessary. Numevia does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, preservation of locally stored information or correction of every error. Calculator methodologies and content may be updated as rules or editorial decisions change.

7. Third-party sources, links and advertising

The website may cite official sources or link to third-party sites, services and advertisements. Third parties operate independently and are responsible for their content, products, terms, privacy practices and availability. A citation, link or advertisement does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee or agency relationship. Dealings with a third party are between you and that third party.

8. Intellectual property

The website’s original text, organization, interfaces, graphics, software and compilations, together with the Numevia name and visual identity, are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may retain and use your own calculator results for personal or internal purposes. No ownership right is transferred. Reproduction, republication, commercial distribution or creation of a competing database from a substantial part of the website requires prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Numevia does not warrant that results are exact, complete, current, fit for a particular purpose or accepted by a lender, government authority or professional. Nothing in these terms excludes a legal warranty or statutory protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Numevia is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use or reliance on the website, including loss connected with a financial decision, third-party content, service interruption or locally stored data. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including any protection that applies under Quebec consumer law.

11. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with Numevia’s Privacy and Personal Information Protection Policy and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. Calculator inputs are designed to be processed locally in your browser. Do not enter personal identifiers in calculator fields.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Quebec, without limiting mandatory consumer protections or jurisdiction rules. Any dispute will be submitted to a court having jurisdiction under applicable law. Before starting proceedings, the parties are encouraged to send written notice and attempt in good faith to resolve the matter informally.

13. General provisions

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms and the documents expressly incorporated by reference constitute the agreement concerning use of the website.

14. Amendments and contact

Numevia may update these terms prospectively. Material changes will be identified by an appropriate notice and the effective date will be revised. Continued use after the revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. Questions may be sent to contact@numevia.ca.
